for v dry and rough hands
please state the specific cream too, eg crabtree's gardener hand therapy. thanks!Which is a better hand cream - crabtree or l'Occitane?
Hi. I would recommend the Gardeners Hand Therapy cream from Crabtree %26amp; Evelyn. It is specifically made for people with very dry, rough hands. It is formulated with shea butter, which is extremely moisturising! A lot of nurses and teachers and gardeners use this cream because they tend to wash their hands a lot, and it keeps them moisturized. But if your hands are very very dry I suggest you get the Gardeners Hand Recovery as well, it is a hand exfoiliater, so its gonna remove all of the dead skin from your hands. Then follow up with the cream. Thats my favorite hand cream, its excellent!! And once your skin gets use to it and if you use it daily, you'll soon be able to wash your hands without moisturizing afterward! Its just that good. Good Luck!!Which is a better hand cream - crabtree or l'Occitane?
L'occitane shea butter hand cream as its lovely and rich and not greasy
L'Occitane is better. Just their plan shea butter hand cream.
I would recommend you visit revolutioninbeauty.com. They have great homemade recipes and a products page with the cheapest links to ingredients. It works, use it. Don't waste your time and money on diluted big company garbage.
How about good ole Vaseline...been around for years...and you can pronounce the name

Is it okay to put healing hand cream on your face?
most creams should be fine. be wary of creams that have dead sea salts or similar products that clear away dead skin cells. they can be too harsh on your skin, and may cause lots of pain if you get them in your eyes.Is it okay to put healing hand cream on your face?
should be fine, it may have some oils in it that could cause you to break out, but it won't hurt u.Is it okay to put healing hand cream on your face?
YES
I say yes because I do it all the time. I also sometimes use neosporin, lip balm (all natural peppermint) or body lotion. I use Proactive as a body wash once or twice a week as well as for the face as directed. Use what works!
yes it is. it works better than ordinary body lotion too. i'm not savin it for my hands.

What topical medication ( ointment or cream) is good for chronic and stubborn eczema on the hand?
I work in the hospital as a nurse. I now use the powder-free gloves. For years,I had a chronic case of eczema to my right hand on only 2 particular spots. It itches and flakes up like crazy. I have seen the dermatologist and was given an ointment but the eczema is stubborn for years. Is there any homeopathic herbal or pharmaceutical topical medications recommended? Any other suggestions?What topical medication ( ointment or cream) is good for chronic and stubborn eczema on the hand?
Hylobatizol, not sure of the spelling, it eradicated my eczema.What topical medication ( ointment or cream) is good for chronic and stubborn eczema on the hand?
I have suffered from eczema for years and have figured out a nice combo of products that have worked wonders for my skin. You can check it out here: http://budurl.com/n4d7 Report Abuse
I found that clobetasol 0.005% cream is effective because it is a super high potency corticosteroid. I apply it twice a day and eczema is manageable because it soothes the itching which is a huge relief so I won't irritate my skin even more. I also use Eucerin lotion, dove soap I stay clear of any products with too much perfume because it becomes a nightmare for my skin and allergies. Keep your hands moisturized apply a thick of moisturizer under the gloves while your at work. I have my eczema under control now but if I get stressed or climate becomes too hot or too cold here comes a flair up just have to know your triggers.
I am a nurse too! I used to have trouble with my hands cracking and bleeding due to the glove exposure and hand washing. I struggled with these symptoms for many years but now I use a skin oil and cream once/day and I don't have anymore skin trouble. If you would like the website to check the products out, let me know (it's against community rules to leave the information here). I would also be happy to send you some samples if you would like to try the products. Good luck!
Dee, hello. Latex gloves are bad for eczema. You should wear Vinyl gloves instead; and if your hands are sweating - Cotton gloves underneath. As for topical medications: I suggest that you should if you haven't already try the herbal cream by Champori: it helps my eczema better than anything else I tried, and it is harmless, too.
Best,
Bernadette
Freederm HC Soothing Dermal Cream At eczemamiracle.com
My son was born with eczema and we struggled with it for years. I tried everything, spending 100-200$ a week (seriously). I never went anywhere without at least 3 types of itch cream plus lotion. He cried and and rarely slept for more than a couple hours at a time. I could go on and on....it was horrible.
Then my husband found Freederm on the internet. We bought it not expecting much, but it relieves the itch and controls the rash. Within a couple of days his skin didn't look so angry and was starting to get smooth. He also started sleeping through the night (and so did I).
Use it liberally at first but as the months go by it won't be necessary to use so much anymore. We used it for a little more than a year and then the eczema was gone and we haven't had a problem with it in more than two years.
the best thing you can do is to keep the skin moist all throughout the day using an all natural skin care moisturizer. be sure to keep the skin hydrated by drinking lots of water. avoid moisture robbers like dry air, humidity and too much exposure to extreme temperatures. avoid things and skin irritants that can encourage eczema outbreaks. consult your dermatologist about the best treatments for eczema. visit http://www.skinoriginal.com for tips on how to avoid eczema flares.
I highly recommend using this amazing organic oil known as Argan oil. It has been popular in Israel and Morocco for years. It became really popular in Europe when models started using it, and is now found in all the spas and salons, I grew up in France and have been using it for years. It absorbs into the skin really quickly, faster than most creams and lotions. It works wonders for the skin, hair, nails, and skin ailments. It is all around the most beneficial and rarest organic skin care product on the planet. We used it for my niece's eczema and it worked wonders. For some reason it only grows in Morocco. I found one website that has the best directions for all its different uses. I contacted them and they said they start selling in two weeks. You can register for a discount now and future promotions.

Use a zinc oxide or Desitin cream. It should penetrate the dryness when you wear the gloves. You may have to apply it several times a day depending how often you have to change gloves.
I've used cortisone, mecca (very hard to find now), and something with zinc. However, I've found it is very related to spiritual and emotional health too.
Protopic or Elidel? They're better than cortisone for long-term use.
Hi,
My name is Joy and I am an independent consultant for Warm Spirit, Inc. There is a great solution to your eczema problem that I would love to recommend to you-and hope you will give it a try.
The product is called Special Attention Cream. It is the problem solver for trouble spots. This super-rich cream looks like butter, and works like magic on rough, cracked skin and it really does heal dry, flaky skin.
The classic emollients and vitamins mixed with eucalyptus, camphor and menthol to open the pores, increase blood flow, soothe and heal and invigorate your problematic skin.
Translation: Special Attention Cream is a Miracle Worker. Dianne Keaton, a wonderful actress, has added this product to her daily regimene.
And as a personal reference- after the birth of my third child I suffered from eczema on my neck. Upon discovering the Special Attention Cream I utilized it for three days and the eczema was gone. I have not had a problem in that area since.
I use this product for anything---including pimples and it resolves that problem almost instantaniously. Yes it almost sounds too good to be true, but it really does work!!

NIVEA ... OR... VASELINE HAND CREAM IS EXCELLANT
ITS NOT GREASYWhat is the best non greasy hand cream?
Non-greasy ppl... how greasy can Vaseline be sheeeshh...
Any Vitamin E cream would be good for moisture and not too greasy ...
VASELINE INTENSIVE CARE
Udder cream is pretty good. The tube it comes in is spotted like a cow. It is sold at any drugstore.
I agree with whoever said the Neutrogena Norwegian hand cream. I use it all the time and it really works.
It has a girly smell though, I'm not sure you would like it.
Neutrogena. What the Norwegian fishing crews use, sadly.
Liz Earle or one of the OPI avojuices are the best ive ever used, no stickiness or greasiness afterwards and they smell great.
Bee Luscious has an amazing hand cream moisture mitts by far the best you can buy. Fantastic results !
I like Cocoa Butter which is not greasy even it sounds like it might be really greasy. It is also cheaper than most other types plus it can be used for other parts of the body.
Yep the best is called Moisture Mitts by BEE LUSCIOUS COSMETICS, its available on line and a tube will last 6+ months , a little goes a really long way and it not only soothes but coats your hands like a glove to repel water, it is not greasy and it absorbs right away. My husband loves it.
I love Aveeno hand cream; it lasts for 24 hours.

I wash my hands alot a work. they tend to dry and ashy.Can some one please recommend a really good hand cream?
Whatever you use don't use any products with a mineral oil base - Petroleum products, baby oil etc.
This hardens skin and doesn't help it.
Careful too on the soaps - better off washing with warm water longer then using a soap at a strange place.
My husband suffers from cracked dry hands.
Corn Huskers lotion is his favorite. We have tried them all.I wash my hands alot a work. they tend to dry and ashy.Can some one please recommend a really good hand cream?

Hi, I don't remember how to spell it, but its a lotion called Euceryn, its at most drug stores, I get it at Walgreens, but I usually by the Walgreens brand which is 3.99. Its in a white tub with a blue lid. Its one of the better lotions, I have a form of eczema on my hands, and this helps alot.
Olay Quench Therapy Hand Cream speeds relief to severely dry, itchy hands with a unique 2-in-1 rescue system:
1. packed with vitamins (B5, B3, and E), its concentrated formula penetrates deep within skin's surface to start healing instantly.
2. then Olay's advanced system of rich emollients seals in moisture to defend against dry skin coming back.
Btw. Olay was voted best hand cream of 2006 among women ages 18-38.
Good Luck :)
The Body Shop Hemp hand cream is brilliant for dry skin.
My mum is a nurse and so washes her hands a lot at work, after years of trying out other hand creams this was the only one intense enough to clear up her dry, cracked skin.
I have found that Nivea hand cream works the best for me. You can pick it up at Walgreens, and it is inexpensive.
nuetrogena norwegian fisherman formula....best stuff ever for dry hands. my hands are in solvent alot and its the only thing i have found.
No doubt the soap at your work place is antibacterial. Most antibacterial soaps contain triclosan. Triclosan is a derivative of phenol - the first antiseptic on the market which was removed because it was so toxic. This, in part, explains why your hands are so dry. Degerming is the physical process of scrubbing your hands when you wash them. Soap is actually a wetting agent. The important thing is to keep scrubbing for at least a full minute (sing the ABCs x 2) to be effective hand washing. You really don't need antibacterial soap - in fact, you would have to have the soap sit on your hands for 10 minutes to be effective! An alternative is the hand gels that contain alcohol - although I don't know if you are washing your hands to get them clean or decrease the spread of germs). Use the hand gel and about by the 5th time, wash your hands in the sink. As for a good hand cream, Nivea works very well at night (I wear cotton gloves). Vaseline doesn't seem to absorb as well. Any extra-dry formulas work well too, however, how they feel on a person's skin varies. Try the sample bottles at the store, ask your pharmacist what they recommend or ask your co-workers what they use. Good luck!
Key is cream and not lotion. Lotion is diluted and cream is more of a concentrate.
My son can get severe dry skin and the dermatologist recommended Cetaphyll CREAM. It runs about $14-16 for about 16 oz. Not too bad and it lasts him awhile.
It has no additives like perfume etc. to it so it is better! I would take advantage of night time to apply and let hands heal overnight. Doesn't hurt to apply after washing but probaly not as realistic for you at work.
My son is supposed to apply to skin right after showering while pores are open.
Good for you for washing your hands...it's the BEST way to avoid passing cold and flu (and other icky things) from one person to another...
The best hand cream I have found (and me and my husband both have VERY dry skin that is hard to keep soft) is
GOLD BOND lotion....not a glamorous brand, but it WORKS.
Aveno with oatmeal, good stuff.
Burt's Bees has some great hand creams (I love the Banana hand cream, I am not as fond of the smell of the Almond). They also have a great body lotion that you could use each time you wash (Milk %26amp; Honey (smells a little like coconut and the also have some others). When you first try the body lotion, you may think it is too watery, but it absorbs so well that you would be surprised. They also have a cuticle cream that works well. Bottom line, I like their product because they are more natural, so I can take care of my dry skin without bathing in chemicals. Along that line, Chef's Planet has a great natural hand soap with a foaming pump. It is more gentle and the bottle lasts a long time. Good luck.
use lotion after every wash... any kind of lotion will help

How can I make a hearty soup? I'm starting with navy beans. I've got cream on hand.?
My mother suggested mashed potato flakes. I've got chicken broth and beef broth. Any more suggestions, please.How can I make a hearty soup? I'm starting with navy beans. I've got cream on hand.?
Add chopped carrots, a chopped onion, garlic if you like it, a couple of diced tomatoes or a can of crushed tomatoes. Don't forget the bay leaf and some salt and pepper. Bring it to a boil, then simmer for at least 1/2 hour, an hour is better.How can I make a hearty soup? I'm starting with navy beans. I've got cream on hand.?
To make a soup hearty, start with a base of onions and a bit of garlic, cooked in some butter. Once transparent and a little golden add flour to make a ';roux'; (pr. ';roo';) - cook until it turns light golden - make sure you cook it for at least 3-5 minutes, so that it won't taste like flour. Add hot chicken broth to the roux as you stir so that don't end up with any lumps in your soup. The more flour you use top make the roux, the thicker your soup will turn. Add the beans, vegetables such as carrots and whatever you have in the fridge, like pieces of ham or chicken leftovers. Add a bay leaf and let simmer for 10 min (if beans are cooked or canned) or 45 minutes if the beans are just soaked but uncooked. Add some heavy cream right before serving and garnish with chopped parsley or basil.

What kind of hand cream would you recommend I use?
My hands are SO dry %26amp; nothing seems to be working for them. They are actually giving away my age!! lolWhat kind of hand cream would you recommend I use?
remember the cream you use may contain alcohol and have the wrong long term affect.
Lubriderm is a favoriteWhat kind of hand cream would you recommend I use?
I'm removing my previous answer since it generated a negative response. I would assume it was because the treatment sounded farfetched!?
I know it does sound farfetched! All I can say is that it is the treatment recommended by one fashion designer who swears that it works.
Honestly, I have never personaly tried it, so I'll remove it.
I like Burts Bees Almond Milk Hand Cream... put it on at night with a pair of gloves and fall asleep like that!
I'd say lubriderm is the best.
I keep a tube of Vaseline Deep Moisture Creamy Formula in my desk drawer -- wonderful stuff!
Astral is very good, however try this................rub vaseline into your hands last thing at night and put on a pair of gloves (or sox) all night, in the morning your hands will be soft, do this every night for a week. Also in the bath add baby oil and as you get out while still wet rub baby oil on your body, legs especially and the oil will help soften your hands.
Try to use handcream three to four times daily always after washing etc.
Goat's milk.......seriously there is such a handcream. Or, as your bf. His is best.
KY oops just read the rest of the question. someone had the right idea about the udder butter. its weird but it works
get some udder cream and then go at it
Breathe Comfort Deep Nourishment Body Creme in soothing Vanilla Milk. From Bath and Body Works.
I use Aveeno Intensive Relief Hand Cream and it's great. It's gentle so your hands won't burn if they are cracked. No sparkle, not greasy.
I use Avon's Moisture Therapy Intensive
it really seems to work well. Specially if you have to wash your hands more than on a regular basis.
Avon's Moisture Therapy works for me!

How can a tattoo hurt less? is there any cream that I can put before-hand to numb the part or something?
It is a large area that includes back, waist and ends in my pelvis. Its gonna be colorful and will take a few days.How can a tattoo hurt less? is there any cream that I can put before-hand to numb the part or something?
To make your tattoo hurt less, get enough sleep the night before, eat a light meal before you go in and make sure you stop for snacks when you get hungry, Drink enough water as it will help you feel better in general. The better you feel when you start your tattoo the less it will seem to hurt. if you start out feeling like youve been hit by a truck your tattoo is going to be painful.
Aside from all that, just accept it! Tattoos hurt, but not that terribly. It doesnt hurt enough that you need to worry about it.
You will handle the pain because you want the result. If the pain isnt enough to scare you out of getting the work, then you will be fine.
While you're sitting for your tattoo, try talking to your artist. Most of them are accomplished conversationalists and will try to keep you occupied at least part of the time. Find things to keep your mind occupied for the first few hours, but dont be afraid to just zone out as you start getting tired.
Let your artist know when you start wearing out so they can find a stopping point. Sitting for a tattoo is not a marathon and its not a competition, so quit when you're tired. Once you're really tired, it will hurt more and be harder to tolerate.
You dont need anything to help you with the pain aside from patience and a positive attitude. Your tattoo is gonna be worth it all, so learn to enjoy the process.How can a tattoo hurt less? is there any cream that I can put before-hand to numb the part or something?
Get a stick on tattoo. Then you can change it when you want a new one.

If you cant take the pain, then get out of the game. Haha. Mine took 2 hours so it wasnt as long but after a while you will get used to it! Good luck, and dont do anything you will appreciate it more..
Tattoo's hurt, that's all there is to it. I look at it like it's earning your ink.
For me, it hurts less when I can watch what he's doing. It hurts most when I can't see whats going on.
So far, the most painful part of my sleeve is the ditch of the arm (inside of the elbow) and up by my arm pit.
The pain will make you enjoy the tattoo more afterwards. It's best to go in sober and not use any pain killers. Sometimes those things can mess up your bodies reaction to the tattoo.
its kind of expenive, but you can buy I think its benzocaine and lydacaine...they numb the area a bit, I used them( or atleast one of them not sure which one...) when i got the back of my neck tattooed.... they do help the pain a bit...i also used it on my ankle, only problem was that it numbed the pain at first, but then when it wore off all the pain hit me at once and it hurt like a mofo....
I don't know where you can get it, but i got surgery once and before they did anything they cleaned my arm with sumin and it numbed my arm a whole lot, i couldn't feel anything.... they put me on gas then so i was out of it anyways, but the stuff they numbed my arm with worked good...
dentists also have that stuff the put on a cotton swab and rub on your gums to numb them a bit before they inject the novacaine..i dunno how it works on regular skin though...
just don't show up drunk...it will thin our blood and you'll bleed a lot and it might not turn out good...also if u go to stand up afterwards theres a good chance you'll pass out, that happened to someone..i think they almost died cause they fell through a glass countertop....
No painkillers, no alcohol, nothing. Do you know that it will hurt? For one that big, I assume it's not your first. Pain depends more on the person than anything else. I have 2, my wife has 3, and neither of us was beyond slightly uncomfortable. HOWEVER, when we took my sister in for her first, she was squeezing my fingers together and wincing (bare minimum) the whole time. Have fun, in any case!

neutrogena norweigian formula

If you hand is extremely dry, you can try Avon's Moisture Therapy hand cream.
i would say go to victorias secret or bath and body works.
Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream - I've used it for years!
http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.j鈥?/a>
booneyx95 is right...bath and body works has the best hand cremes! They smell amazing and work great! :)
Great Shakes hand cream from Soap %26amp; Glory is awesome stuff. It's a little more scented then I generally like, but it's very emollient, and makes your hands very soft. Good stuff!
I would reccomend hand cream from bath and body works. It works well and smells great!
eucerin works great
Yes! L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream. It's $25, but well worth the money! Its a pretty big tube, too.
Neutrogena Norwegian Hand Cream, You can get in unscented aswell :)
The best hand cream I have ever used is NO CRACK cream. Ask for it at your local pharmacy. I have a dry skin condition on my palms and this stuff is the only thing that helps and doesn't wear off after 20 minutes. The Bath and Body Works stuff does smell good but it wears off too quickly to do any real good.

A colleague at work smelled my drink and the 2nd was my hand cream ??
could this be an habit for some people ?and is it right to smell someone elses food ....what does it imply when some smell ur food or things constantly and what should i do ...pls advice??A colleague at work smelled my drink and the 2nd was my hand cream ??
Smelling the hand cream is OK, if they ask first. The thought of someone smelling my food or drink is offensive. I would say, ';I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I wish you wouldn't smell my food. It bothers me for some reason, don't ask me why.'; Then just smile and change the subject.A colleague at work smelled my drink and the 2nd was my hand cream ??
Its a bit wierd, if its a close collegue, they are probably just being friendly, or have a genuine curiousity to what it smells like.
But as far as etiquette goes, no its not a very good thing to do, I dont like other people going near my food, this is something I am going to consume.
Next time make a joke, say something like ';Dont do that, youll get your germs all over it!'; in a playful tone, so that they dont get offended.
But after that, if they continue to do it, ask them nicely not to, and that you like your personal space.
Good Luck!!
that is kinda rude...
it could meann they though it wasnt going to be nice or thought it was like off???
but it could also just mean it smelled so good..
but usually you dont smell peoples stuff..
with the handcream, i dont think that is as wierd. it ok to smell things like beauty products and hand creamss.. but as long as your not like... going out of your way to sniff .
THATS WIERD ********
anywayy...
good luck in life
:P
I hate it when someone smells my food , It's ignorant.
I don't want their snot on my food.
I'll say here you want it %26amp; shove the food up their noise.
That is rude of them...I would be really pissed off and tell my supervisor...sounds like some one is trying to get you fired.

What type of hand cream would you recommend for dry hands?
I read this here ...
Put some vaseline on THICK and then put some old socks over them for the night and I guess it works miracles! :) Eucern is good, but I just have REALLY dry skin, so that's my next trick.. gonna do it on my feet one night..too. So it's gross for a night, it'd be well worth it for ME if they felt that much softer/better! :) Good Luck to you!What type of hand cream would you recommend for dry hands?
Neutrogena-New Hands
L'Occutane-Shea Butter Hand CreamWhat type of hand cream would you recommend for dry hands?
corn huskers lotion
Body butter by the body shop is pretty good it has shea butter in thats pretty good
Nivea Pure Moisture. My skin literally drinks the stuff up! And it smells good too...
something that worked well for me was putting on some lotion and then i got a parafin wax spa thing from bed bath and beyond, you dip your hands in the wax a few times and then leave it on for about 15 minuites, works like a charm.
Lubriderm is very good. It is non greasy and it soaks in.
Lotion
Neutrogena dry skin formula
any kind of lotion that says ';for dry skin'; would probably help, don't you think?
i say to use skin so soft bc thats what i use and it helps.
Chemicals in hand creams are nasty. Make your own by mixing egg yolk, cornfour and vanilla essence... then put the sock puppets on your hands over night.
You will wake up will soft beautiful hands.

erm...E45 cream
I have a solution to that problem if you email me I will send you a sample product in the mail and it really works. It exfoliates, cleanses and then the lotion softens your hands. I sale these products and have been using them for years and I was just complimented the other day that I have very pretty hands. I am 47 years old and this compliment came from a younger gentleman so it made me feel real good about myself also.
buy a cheap brand but use it liberally. Using an expensive cream is no good if you just apply it once a day

Chapped Hands
24 Soothing Tips
Where'd those scrub brushes come from? Not the ones in your hands鈥攖he ones that are your hands. The ones that are so red, dry, cracked, and painful you wouldn't wish them on your worst enemy. The ones that show up in time for Halloween and don't leave till after Easter. Face it, the Creature from the Black Lagoon had more attractive paws.
How did you get into this mess? Sorry to say, you probably brought it on yourself. First, the low humidity of fall and winter dries and irritates skin. (No, that's not your fault.) Second, as you age, your body just naturally produces less of the oil that keeps skin smooth and supple. (That's not your fault, either.) But bad habits, simple neglect, and lack of good skin sense conspire to make your hands rough and ready to drive you crazy. (And that is your fault!)
So what can you do to soothe those hurting hands? Here's what the experts recommend.
Don't go near the water. ';The basic plan for dealing with chapped hands is to avoid water at all costs,'; says dermatologist Joseph Bark, M.D., of Lexington, Kentucky. ';Consider water to be just like acid on your hands, because it is the worst influence for chapped hands that we know of. Repeated washing removes the skin's natural oil layer, which allows moisture within the skin to evaporate. And that's extremely drying.
';You could do what the French do to keep from getting dry skin,'; laughs Dr. Bark. ';They don't wash their hands very often; they just hang them out the window and shake the dirt off! But seriously, always think twice about washing your hands.';
Go palm up. ';When you must wash your hands often, try to do just the palms,'; recommends dermatologist Diana Bihova, M.D., a clinical instructor at New York University School of Medicine. ';You can wash the palms much more often than the backs of the hands, which have thinner skin and dry out easily.';
Use the lotion potion. ';Instead of using soap, clean your hands with an oil-free skin cleanser such as Cetaphil or SFC Lotion,'; says Dr. Bark. ';Rub it on the skin, work it into a lather, then wipe it off with a tissue. It's a wonderful way to wash skin without any irritation whatsoever.';
Try the bath oil treatment. Taking the no-soap concept one step further, Rodney Basler, M.D., assistant professor at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, recommends washing your hands with bath oil. ';They may not feel really clean like they might with soap, but they won't get dried out, either.';
Prevention Is Your Best Solution
Chapped hands are always easier to prevent than to treat, says Diana Bihova, M.D. Here are some ways to do that:
Stay out of hot water. ';A good rule of thumb is to avoid hot water, detergents, and strong household solvents,'; says Dr. Bihova.
Avoid soaping. ';Because chapped hands occur when oil is taken from the skin, you should not use a terribly harsh or alkaline soap. You're better off with a mild soap, preferably with a little cold cream in it. I often recommend Dove because it's virtually the mildest soap there is,'; says Joseph Bark, M.D.
Put moisture in the air. ';Skin moisturizes itself from the inside out,'; notes Rodney Basler, M.D. ';If there's moisture in the air, not as much would be drawn out through the skin. Therefore, it's a good idea to use a home humidifier.';
Pamper your hands. ';When you apply moisturizer to your face in the morning, immediately apply some to the hands. At night do the same,'; advises Dr. Bihova. ';That keeps them supple and helps resist chapping. I'd say twice a day is a must. In addition, do it after each washing.';
Get topical. Use some type of topical emollient every time you wash your hands and at bedtime. ';Its strength would depend on the severity of your chapping,'; says Dr. Basler. ';Lotions are the least moisturizing, followed by creams and then ointments. Try a lotion first. If that's not enough to carry you through the winter, step up to a cream, then an ointment.';
Don't throw in the towel. ';If your workplace bathroom has a hot-air blower instead of hand towels, bring in a towel from home,'; advises Dr. Bihova. ';Hot-air blowers have been associated with chapped hands. If you must use one, keep your hands at least 6 inches from the nozzle and dry them thoroughly.';
Go soak your hand. Although in general you should keep your hands out of water, sometimes a therapeutic soak is in order. ';For an inexpensive way to achieve the same moisturizing effects produced by skin creams, simply soak your hands in warm water for a few minutes. Then pat off excess water and apply vegetable or mineral oil to the damp surface to seal in moisture,'; says Howard Donsky, M.D., associate professor of medicine at the University of Toronto.
In the same vein, Dr. Basler recommends soaking in a water and oil solution. ';Use 4 capfuls of a bath oil that has a good dispersant (Alpha-Keri is the best) in 1 pint of water. At the end of the day, soak for 20 minutes to get oil back into the skin. That alone will help chapped hands.';
Try ';Cream C.'; ';If you want the cheapest home remedy going, use Crisco,'; says Dr. Bark. ';It's a wonderful moisturizer that covers the skin and keeps water locked in. The key is to use very little and rub it in well so your hands don't feel greasy. Your skin needs only two molecules' worth of barrier thickness to protect it from water loss. They used to call Crisco Cream C at Duke University, where doctors dispensed it freely. It really works.';
';You don't have to purchase expensive creams to get good results,'; agrees Dr. Donsky. ';Inexpensive substitutes for people with dry and normal skin include cocoa butter, lanolin, petroleum jelly, and light mineral oil.';
Double up. ';When applying any type of lotion or cream, use what I call Bark's double-layer application technique,'; continues Dr. Bark. ';Put on a very thin layer and let it soak in for a few minutes. Then apply another thin layer. Two thin ones work much better than one heavy one.';
Try lemon oil. ';To smooth and soothe irritated hands, mix a few drops of glycerin with a few drops of lemon oil [both are available at pharmacies]. Massage this into your hands at bedtime,'; says New York City skin care specialist Lia Schorr.
Dress to kill. A lot of unsuspected things around the home can act as irritants for chapped hands. ';I recommend wearing plain white cotton gloves for doing any kind of dry work,'; says Dr. Bihova. ';That includes reading the newspaper and even unloading groceries. Any time you have friction against skin that's already dry, cracked, or red, you aggravate it. The advantage of cotton gloves is that they allow the skin to breathe and at the same time absorb any moisture that accumulates so it won't irritate your skin.';
';In addition,'; according to Nelson Lee Novick, M.D., clinical associate professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine of the City University of New York, ';cotton gloves keep the skin clean so you don't have to wash your hands so often and risk perpetuating the problem.';
';If you need to get an extra-good grip on something, use leather gloves,'; says New York hand model Trisha Webster.
Model Your Hands after Hers
When your fingers are your fortune, you take darned good care of them. Ask Trisha Webster. She's a top hand model with the Wilhelmina agency in New York City. Those are her hands you see in many high-fashion jewelry and cosmetic ads. If they're not picture perfect, Webster is out of a job. So how does she keep her hands looking young? The same way you can.
Stop problems before they start. ';I try to keep my hands out of water at all costs,'; says Webster, ';which is why I always let someone else do the dishes (well, it's one of the reasons!). When I can't avoid getting my hands wet, such as during bathing, I always moisturize them immediately afterward. It takes just a few minutes for the moisture that's accumulated in the skin to evaporate. When that happens, your hands are drier than they were before.';
Get protection. ';I never go outdoors in the winter without protecting my hands. That means putting on a good layer of moisturizer and then gloves.';
Use sun sense. ';A long time ago I stopped going out in the sun because it dries and ages hands just as surely as it does your face.';
If you're not ready to give up the sun, Diana Bihova, M.D., suggests using a moisturizing sunscreen on your hands. ';Sunscreens moisturize hands and keep them looking younger, so make their use an everyday habit,'; she says. ';Just stay away from gels and alcohol-based sunscreens, because alcohol is drying. Also, products containing the active ingredient PABA can be irritating if you have sensitive skin.';
Mix rubber and cotton. ';For wet work, it's extremely important to use cotton gloves under vinyl ones,'; says Dr. Novick. ';If the cotton gloves get wet, change them immediately. Otherwise replace them with a fresh pair every 20 minutes. Perspiration, lotions, and medications on your hands accumulate inside the gloves and may become irritating rather quickly. I don't recommend rubber gloves with built-in cotton linings because it's very difficult to launder them. But you can launder separate cotton gloves in a mild detergent like Ivory Snow or Ivory Flakes.';
Dr. Bihova agrees. ';The biggest mistake women make when they have hand problems is wearing just rubber gloves. That only makes the hands worse. The rubber traps moisture, keeps the skin from breathing, and creates too much friction.';
';Sometimes you can avoid gloves altogether,'; says dermatologist Thomas Goodman, Jr., M.D., assistant professor at the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences. ';When you're doing dishes, for instance, a long-handled dish brush keeps your hands entirely out of water.';
Go elegantly into the night. Dr. Goodman recommends occasionally wearing cotton gloves to bed for an extra-soothing treatment. ';Moisten the fabric with about a teaspoon of petroleum jelly so the gloves won't absorb the cream from your hands. Then apply hand cream at bedtime and slip on the gloves. Leave them on overnight. Your hands remain bandaged, in a sense, and can heal.';
';The important thing,'; adds Dr. Bark, ';is not to automatically run to the skin in the morning and wash off the cream. Also I don't recommend sleeping in plastic gloves. They make your hands sweat too much overnight, so that by morning you have the most incredible case of dishpan hands you've ever seen.';
Call on hydrocortisone. Over-the-counter hydrocortisone creams and ointments are of value in treating chapped hands. Use Cortaid or any other 0.5 percent cream several times a day, says Dr. Goodman. Then put a heavier, greasier product on top of that. These hydrocortisone creams don't substitute for good hand care, but they are a boost. Every time you wash your hands, reapply them.
Get a salon treatment. ';Believe it or not, even shampoo can make your tender hands feel worse,'; says Stephen Schleicher, M.D., co-director of The Dermatology Center in eastern Pennsylvania and clinical instructor at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. ';Either let someone else shampoo your hair or wear plastic gloves.';

Hands That Need a Doctor's Touch
';If you have splits and cracks on your hands, you've got hand eczema, and it's a sign you should see a dermatologist,'; advises Joseph Bark, M.D. ';Also, if what you consider to be chapped hands starts as little blisters along the sides of the fingers, it's probably hand eczema and needs potent medication.';
There are other signs that may indicate that what you have is more than a case of chapped hands. If, after two weeks of self-treatment, your hands don't clear up, you should see a dermatologist, says Dr. Bark. You may have a fungal infection or even psoriasis of the hands.
Diana Bihova, M.D., cautions that people (such as doctors, nurses, chefs, and housewives) whose occupations require them to immerse their hands for prolonged periods of time can easily contract monilial paronychia, an annoying fungal infection involving the skin around the cuticle. ';Bartenders and waitresses who handle beer, which is yeasty, are particularly susceptible. When the infection strikes the finger's protective nail fold, it becomes red, swollen, and painful.';
Put your hands in oatmeal. To remove the top layer of dead skin cells from chapped hands, Schorr recommends a weekly sloughing treatment. ';Process 1 cup of uncooked, old-fashioned (not instant) rolled oats in a blender until you have a very find powder. Place it in a large bowl, then rub your hands in the powder, gently removing dry skin. Rinse with cool water, pat dry, and lavish on hand cream. Wait 2 minutes and apply more cream.';
Hire a cook. ';The juices of raw meat and vegetables鈥攍ike potatoes, onions, tomatoes, even carrots鈥攁re sometimes very toxic to skin, especially if it's already irritated. So you can either hire a cook to do all your kitchen work,'; quips Dr. Goodman, ';or wear tissue-thin plastic gloves when handling food.';
';You particularly don't want to squeeze acidic fruits like oranges, lemons, or grapefruit with your bare hands,'; adds Dr. Schleicher. ';They're terribly irritating and will dry your hands further.';
Neutrogena carries this Norwegian formula it comes in little squeeze tubes, and is more like a gel than a lotion, so if you are really chapped,it doesn't sting. The packaging is white with blue accenting

';You could do what the French do to keep from getting dry skin,'; laughs Dr. Bark. ';They don't wash their hands very often; they just hang them out the window and shake the dirt off! But seriously, always think twice about washing your hands.';
Go palm up. ';When you must wash your hands often, try to do just the palms,'; recommends dermatologist Diana Bihova, M.D., a clinical instructor at New York University School of Medicine. ';You can wash the palms much more often than the backs of the hands, which have thinner skin and dry out easily.';
Use the lotion potion. ';Instead of using soap, clean your hands with an oil-free skin cleanser such as Cetaphil or SFC Lotion,'; says Dr. Bark. ';Rub it on the skin, work it into a lather, then wipe it off with a tissue. It's a wonderful way to wash skin without any irritation whatsoever.';
Try the bath oil treatment. Taking the no-soap concept one step further, Rodney Basler, M.D., assistant professor at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, recommends washing your hands with bath oil. ';They may not feel really clean like they might with soap, but they won't get dried out, either.';
Put moisture in the air. ';Skin moisturizes itself from the inside out,'; notes Rodney Basler, M.D. ';If there's moisture in the air, not as much would be drawn out through the skin. Therefore, it's a good idea to use a home humidifier.';
Pamper your hands. ';When you apply moisturizer to your face in the morning, immediately apply some to the hands. At night do the same,'; advises Dr. Bihova. ';That keeps them supple and helps resist chapping. I'd say twice a day is a must. In addition, do it after each washing.';
Get topical. Use some type of topical emollient every time you wash your hands and at bedtime. ';Its strength would depend on the severity of your chapping,'; says Dr. Basler. ';Lotions are the least moisturizing, followed by creams and then ointments. Try a lotion first. If that's not enough to carry you through the winter, step up to a cream, then an ointment.';
Don't throw in the towel. ';If your workplace bathroom has a hot-air blower instead of hand towels, bring in a towel from home,'; advises Dr. Bihova. ';Hot-air blowers have been associated with chapped hands. If you must use one, keep your hands at least 6 inches from the nozzle and dry them thoroughly.';
In the same vein, Dr. Basler recommends soaking in a water and oil solution. ';Use 4 capfuls of a bath oil that has a good dispersant (Alpha-Keri is the best) in 1 pint of water. At the end of the day, soak for 20 minutes to get oil back into the skin. That alone will help chapped hands.';
Try ';Cream C.'; ';If you want the cheapest home remedy going, use Crisco,'; says Dr. Bark. ';It's a wonderful moisturizer that covers the skin and keeps water locked in. The key is to use very little and rub it in well so your hands don't feel greasy. Your skin needs only two molecules' worth of barrier thickness to protect it from water loss. They used to call Crisco Cream C at Duke University, where doctors dispensed it freely. It really works.';
';You don't have to purchase expensive creams to get good results,'; agrees Dr. Donsky. ';Inexpensive substitutes for people with dry and normal skin include cocoa butter, lanolin, petroleum jelly, and light mineral oil.';
Double up. ';When applying any type of lotion or cream, use what I call Bark's double-layer application technique,'; continues Dr. Bark. ';Put on a very thin layer and let it soak in for a few minutes. Then apply another thin layer. Two thin ones work much better than one heavy one.';
Try lemon oil. ';To smooth and soothe irritated hands, mix a few drops of glycerin with a few drops of lemon oil [both are available at pharmacies]. Massage this into your hands at bedtime,'; says New York City skin care specialist Lia Schorr.
Dress to kill. A lot of unsuspected things around the home can act as irritants for chapped hands. ';I recommend wearing plain white cotton gloves for doing any kind of dry work,'; says Dr. Bihova. ';That includes reading the newspaper and even unloading groceries. Any time you have friction against skin that's already dry, cracked, or red, you aggravate it. The advantage of cotton gloves is that they allow the skin to breathe and at the same time absorb any moisture that accumulates so it won't irritate your skin.';
';In addition,'; according to Nelson Lee Novick, M.D., clinical associate professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine of the City University of New York, ';cotton gloves keep the skin clean so you don't have to wash your hands so often and risk perpetuating the problem.';
';If you need to get an extra-good grip on something, use leather gloves,'; says New York hand model Trisha Webster.

Instead of using 3 moisturizers.. .is not only one product that is d body lotion enough to be used for d whole body?R different moisturizers for example... hand cream,foot cream,nail cream,body lotion etc necessary to use?
It depends on the texture that you prefer and the amount of moisture penetration that you want. Creams for feet are usually thicker to get deeper tissue penetration, but that would be uncomfortable for hands as you would have a film or layer of cream that would make it difficult to hold onto things like pens, etc. If you do not need the extremely thick creams for moisturizing, you can use a light lotion everywhere. A good one to try is Complex 15 lotion, which is also fragrance free.R different moisturizers for example... hand cream,foot cream,nail cream,body lotion etc necessary to use?
If you are not prone to break outs, you can use regular lotion all over. My boyfriend does and he had beutiful skin. I only use body lotion and face lotion because face lotion tends to be oil free and formulated not to clog pores. But sometimes I'll use regular lotion if my face is really dry and/or there is nothing else avalible.
I think the theory is that different parts of your body have different levels of dryness and therefore require different formulas. Also, lotions meant to nourish your nails probably have vitamins and special oils in them specifically for your hands (and a lot of foot lotions have anti-fungal properties).

What's the best hand cream ever?
I have tried Eve Lom, Liz Earle, L'occitane, Elizibeth Ardens 8 hour cream, CrabTree %26amp; Evelyn etc but I still cant find one I am satisfied with! Any suggestions would be appreciated. xxWhat's the best hand cream ever?
Well l'occitane is my favorite, but if you do not like that Kiss My face has an honey and caludenla one, neutrogena has a norwegan formula that has lanolin. You can put baby oil on your hands and then handcream that was what I did when my hands were superdry. Burts bees has a nice one that is beeswax and bannana.
L'occtaine 100% pure shea is really the strongest I have found. If not the cream is pretty good. I would not use department store ones those are just expensive junk.What's the best hand cream ever?
try pearl cream this is commonly use by a royalty ex.princes of zwed.christina.i use i8t 2 my pricle,pigment%26amp;pinple was gone.try it a bit expenceive u can buy it chiness drug store.blue and gold sheld
Try Collagen Hand Cream. They are excellent hand cream and inexpensive. Available at major pharmaceutical stores.
Try Olay ';Quench.'; Not only does it smell nice, it makes skin feel like silk.
My fav is The Body Shop Hemp Hand Cream. It is so thick and moisturising! It also works kinda like a cutical cream as well! I love it!
save your money!!!!!!!! you gals spend so much money on a simple item like hand creme when the best thing to use is one that is moderately priced....never spend more then $5 or $6 on hand creme; look at the ingredients!! if glycerin is among the first 5 things listed, that's what you want; glycerin attracts moisture from the atmosphere..if it does not contain glycerin, most any other emollient will do...it's how you use the product!!
.BIG SECRET; best way to get the MOST out of hand cremes and even facial %26amp; body cremes:
Wet your hands under warm running water; then 'wash' your hands, as if you were using soap...then dry, and IMMEDIATELY use your hand creme...it will LOCK IN the moisture from the water that has hydrated (opposite of de-hydrated!!) your skin cells!!!!!!!!!! try this and you will see a difference...
ok ready,,,its a oldie,,,its called corn huskers,its great,and very cheap
you can find it in rite aids or cvs stores
African shea butter is by far the best.
Hand cream, what's your favourite brand/make?
I have tried the bodyshop Hemp one, but the smell makes me feel sick, am now using Soap and Glory, but my hands are still dry.Hand cream, what's your favourite brand/make?
Love the Body Shop Hemp but agree with you about the smell. I also find it a bit greasy for use during the day. What I do is smother my hands in it just before I go to bed and then put on a pair of Cotton Gloves (from Body Shop) until the morning. You'll find that when you wake up your hands feel fantastic and you don't notice the smell. Also really good on dry feet. For everyday use i like the Dove hand cream but it's definitely not as intensive as the Body Shop. Hope this helps.Hand cream, what's your favourite brand/make?
I use vaseline intensive care lotions and they all work great on every part of me, not just my hands!
superdrugs hand and nail cream really strengthens your nails and prices start from 99p its a bargain..
Clarins, more epensive but worth it
I got one from Avon it was Almond and somthing else. It smells absolutely gorgous
Use Olay Quench! It's perfect for dry skin!
Bath and Body Works is good but you can't get it in the UK unfortunately. I use Simple Hand Cream or some that I've got from Marks and Spencers.
Most definately NIVEA! God I love the stuff! The dark blue original cream, not the namby pamby Soft stuff. My skin thing is when I get cold or wet, it feels horrible over my hands and Nivea is the only thing that cures it. I recently moved to New Zealand from the UK and the worst thing is that they only sell Nivea in little tubs, not the big ones I used to get back home. I emailed them, moaning about it, and they sent me some free samples! YAY! Love ya NIVEA!
E45 Lotion.
It is medicinal, unperfumed and non-greasy. You can even use it on your face...
I found Avon hand cream works good on dry hands
In my opinion, Vaseline Hand %26amp; Nail cream with AHA's is excellent. I have dermatitas and it really makes my skin soft much softer than the creams my GP prescribes. It also has the added bonus of strengthening your nails by 50%.
Close 2nds are Nivea Q10 and E45 Lotion.
I love Bath and Body Works' hand creams. So yummy smelling.
Neutrogena: Norwegian formula hand ';cream';
it's not really a cream. [cream isn't really anything but water and some other ingredients and doesn't moisturise my skin]
So if you have dry skin like me, go for lotions and oils.
atrixo, brilliant, especially in winter
i really like the avon one with silicates and glyceride. It really softens your hands and seems to form a protective barrier to prevent any more damage- oh and its mega cheap too!
I have really dry skin in the winter, sometimes I will scratch so bad in my sleep it bleeds.
Last year I started using the glycerine soap and creams from bath and body works and got by without an itch. It was wonderful. I slather it on daily, it smells good and works very well.
During the year, they have many sales, but everyyear, I think 2 days after XMAs, they have their semi-annual sale. Soap is 75% off, you are limited to 12 bars, but I go back twice and get 24, I am good for the year then.
luberderm is the best and smell good
I love Neutrogena's Norweigan formula creams and lotions. Their hand cream comes in unscented which is great for me since I'm allergic to lots of fragrances. My hands get really dry too but this helps them stay soft. Plus you don't need a whole lot, just a little dab on each hand.
I use and love ARBONNE .. they are botanically based products formulatted without animal products without mineral oils and without fragrances ... they are really awesome ... i buy them online at http://arbonnepuertorico.myarbonne.com they have lots of info and you could ask for free samples ...
marks and sparks florentina
Hi i use Dream Cream from Lush. They dont test on animals and dont use any chemicals in any of there products, Its the best cream i have ever used. My hands are very sensitive and i have to watch what i use. Most hand creams i buy in store burn my skin, but dream cream is brillient for all over the body also. Its the perfect cream especially now the winter is here and you can even use it on the face. Its worth the money and doesnt have a strong scent to it. and the smell wears off afterwords anyway if you dont like it.I swear by it. Go to the shopping bit on the Lush website to have a look see.
Hemp Oil from the body shop
body shop - hemp, not brill smell but very good for very dry hands
vaseline hand and nail cream
I've been using L'occitane hand cream for months and love it!
I like alot of lotions, but my fave is Jergens...the original smelling one

What is a really good thick hand cream for my dry skin?
It's gotta be inexpensive too.What is a really good thick hand cream for my dry skin?
The best one that comes to mind is free, but it takes a little effort to get the best results. It is full of natural ingredients and protein!What is a really good thick hand cream for my dry skin?
MY DAUGHTER HAS ECZEMA AND I USE GOLDBOLD INTENSIVE CARE, IT WORKS GREAT BUT A 5OZ TUBE IS LIKE $6.00!
Try Jergens Daily Toning Moisturizer. Look for the words ';Skin Firming';. It's the thickest hand cream and may even stay on your hands if you only wash lightly. FYI: any product with Aluminum Starch is best.
Goldbond
Eucerin - I also like anything from Bath and Body Works
burts bees oat meal cream
Neutrogena hand creme
the vitamin E one from St. Ives
Try parafin wax. It is really good for your skin. You could also try a little vaseline and put gloves on when you go to bed at night. I have done this during the winter and it helped immensely. Bath and Body Works is having a sale. Go to their website or store and get some.
I love Eucerin or Curel. I have exremely dry skin. Also before getting out of the shower use Olay body lotion. For my hands and feet I use equate dry skin creme in the tub. It is really thick and works.
Neutrogena
Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream. I use it in the winter when my hands start to crack
*_*
So painful...
try shea butter
Suave with aloe. Its not greasy, and doesn't wash off immediately because it soaks in well. Very inexpensive.
best I have found is Moisture Therapy hand cream by Avon and it is $3.99.
Burt's Bees or Sally Hansen.
Good stuff. A little goes a long way. And you can get a tube for $10 and under.
Where's Hawk when you need him?
Try Aveeno. I really like it and it's done wonders for my husbands dry cracked working hands.
utter butter. It is like a salve and works wonders or use corn huskers cream.
I agree with sideways. I love me some Udder Butter!
Well, you can always pump some from a boyfriend. It's really good for the skin, I mean, why else would all the porn stars let guys blow it all over them, right?
Dry skin types have to be extremely careful to protect their skin. Yogurt-honey combination helps dry skin. Make an egg pack with a yolk, a teaspoon of honey, a tablespoon of milk powder. This is beneficial to dry skin types. There are many helpful tips to cure dry skin at http://useinfo-dryskin.blogspot.com/

Parabens are in almost ever hand cream and shampoos, how can you not avoid it?
There are many natrual product lines out there you can look for: Jason, Desert Essence, Burts Bees, Avalon Organics. I have had good luck with them all. If you can't find them in your area at the grocery check a natural food store. If you still can't find these products try something like olive oil instead of lotion. It works great for hands and body but may be too oily for face.Parabens are in almost ever hand cream and shampoos, how can you not avoid it?
There's a lotion called VaniCream which has no parabens.

Does any old hand softning cream work for lubricant?
Does any old hand softning cream work for lubricant. I heard this and wanna know if its true....Does any old hand softning cream work for lubricant?
It can be a substitute, yes.
Some can contain chemicals that could cause irritation, though. So you should always check the ingredients list.Does any old hand softning cream work for lubricant?
The best stuff if that which is made specifically as a lube.
Try the product called ';WET';. It is the cadallic of lubes.
Hand lotion often has added ingredients in it that may cause irritation to sensitive areas.
If you're talking about lubricant to masturbate with, just go slow and work the head of your penis and chances are you'll precum enough to act as lube. It's really nice and natural feeling too. I personally fine lubricant to be gross. Most girls get pretty wet, so just use a little spit on your penis to get it inside her and you should be fine from there. If she gets a little dry after awhile or isn't very wet to begin with you can try some water based lube from the store. I personally find taking your time and really stimulating her will make her very wet and delicious.
For masturbation, you can use any type of lotion. Some may sting a bit if you get them in the tip of your urethra, so best idea is to just stay away from the very tip.
With a woman though, lotion is a very very bad, dangerous idea. Only water-based lubricants, specifically intented for internal use should be used for intercourse.
If you really want your girl to end up with an infection.

What is a good hand cream?
I want a good, thick cream that won't get greasy or sticky. It's winter in the desert :(
Thanks in advance!What is a good hand cream?
Try Garnier Body Repair
Garnier Skin Naturals has created Bodyrepair Intensive Restoring Moisturiser especially for skin that feels tight, rough or chapped.Working like a moisturiser 'plaster', it helps to replenish and protect the skin.What is a good hand cream?
You're welcome, in advance!
Please try Aveeno Intense Relief for Dry Hands... It is only
$10.00 and comes in a beige-and-burgundy tube...
It is not greasy, and within two days my rough hands felt themselves again! And I'm the type to spend a fortune on
products - This time, I didn't have to! Trust me...
:-)
go to bed bath and body works
ur bound to find one you like there
Try Cetaphil moisturising lotion.
It's not just a thick white hand cream, its also an all over body.
It's suitable for dry skin with winter itch, shaving and dermatological conditions.
helps in the prevention of dry associated with dermatitis or eczema
is free of lanolin, parbens and fragrances
is suitable for use on sensitive skin
is pH balanced
does not clog pores
feels pleasant to use.
I have experienced this cream and it's never gets greasy or sticky when you let it dry. It's a gentle and long lasting moisturiser, which you can apply once for every two days.
Hope this helps, and good luck
L'occitane's shea butter hand cream for dry skin is awesome. You could also try Sally Hansen's 18 hour protective hand cream. It transformed my dry skin (during winter) into soft and smooth skin. The rough spots disappeared. Just make sure you use the hand cream after every time you wash your hands.
None of those 2 are greasy but are extremely nourishing.
Try this before you go to bed: make a scrub out of sugar and olive oil and massage into your hands. Wash it all off WITHOUT soap and dry your hands. Then slather on a good hand cream and put on a pair of cotton gloves so the cream wont rub off on the sheets.
One more thing...make sure you get enough vitamin E. It helps maintain healthy skin.
Good luck!

Is a 2 liter bottle of soda or ice cream good to hand out to kids tonight lol?
No ice cream-it would melt in their bags. Two liter bottles of soda would make their bags heavy. I do hand out cans of soda tho. I have become famous for this tradition.Is a 2 liter bottle of soda or ice cream good to hand out to kids tonight lol?
microwave popcornIs a 2 liter bottle of soda or ice cream good to hand out to kids tonight lol?
Is there a party tonight or is this a practice at night? It is a known fact that Soda and ice cream have way too much sugar to give to children (or for that matter adults) for the allergies that come with it becoming illness that you could prevent. Try sliced fruit or dietetic drinks, any flavor to satisfy their hunger.
Spartawo...
maybe those mini cans of soda, or single serving sizes of ice cream, but the ice cream could melt and ruin the other things in their baskets.
no that is so stupid lolerythema

both?i tht u can just use body moisturizer..if u realie wana seperate the lotion...u can use orange lotion frm missha and u can use aloe vera leg lotion frm sasa..u can also buy the lotion frm sg website at 88db....i would use both definitly...if not the tone would be uneven..Should you be using a leg cream or hand cream? apart from body moisturizers?
during the winter, I use a seperate hand cream just because my hands tend to get even more dry in the cold weather. As far as feet go, I put on a crack cream for my heels to keep them moisturized as well..
if you have a good, quality moisturizer, than you should be ok using it for the whole body.. I perfer creams to lotions just because i love the feel..
a lot of people i know also use baby oil gel if they have dry skin, its great on sensetive skin and works wonders

Can men use hand cream and what is the best brand for men?
thank youCan men use hand cream and what is the best brand for men?
Anyone can use hand cream! Aveeno brand is sold in most pharmacies such as Rite-Aid, Walgreen's, CVS and also at Walmart. Look for an Aveeno product called Intense Hand Moisture and Repair cream. It's not targeted at men or women and has no fragrance. It's awesome. Use it twice daily or as much needed. I have serious dry hands where my skin cracks and bleed. I use this and all is well. Good luck! ANY Aveeno product is great.Can men use hand cream and what is the best brand for men?
Cetephil is not scented and Aveeno isn't either and both are very good. There's also Nutrogena, who has a very heavy one in a tube which was invented for fishermen originally; I believe it's heavy because it's concentrated. Any of those would be good for men.
You can use any kind of hand cream to help keep your hands from being rough. If nothing else, use Vaseline.
of course. you don't need to buy anything special-- although you probably want unscented. I like Nivea but there are tons of lotions. Just pick some up at the grocery store.
most certainly yes.
Which brand is best will depend why you want to use it in the first place.
Aveeno! Great for anyone. No crazy perfumes and it rejuvenates skin.

My wife asked why we go through so much hand cream. What should I tell her?
You could try telling her, that you heard it was great for keeping old leather soft and supple.... ;) My wife asked why we go through so much hand cream. What should I tell her?
Tell her the truth. You love your skin to feel soft and smooth for her? Ha! Unless of course it's being used for self gratification. Is that what you kids use, lotion? Interesting. My wife asked why we go through so much hand cream. What should I tell her?
Tell her the truth. If you can't handle being up front with it you shouldn't be doing it, and if she can't handle knowing it, she shouldn't be married.
Tell her you use it to yank hank...because she is not putting out enough for you,and you don't want to cheat.
That depends on the reason. :-? Tell her you have rough hands, and you want them to be soft for holding her.
You love to make love to ';yourself'; LMAO! And while your at it tell her ';yourself'; is moving in, and taking over her spot!
That your are polishing the bishop with it. If she would do the polishing you wouldn't use so much
She already knows.
ask her to think real hard on her question.
Sure hope BOTH your hands are soft!
You like to keep your hands soft.....just for her.
you have one part of your body that is sooo dry
tell her....you give great foot massages !!
BLAME IT ON THE KIDS!
tell her that you use it to wax the carrot

Do i neeD tO use a seperate hand cream and foot cream?. .Cant i use just a body lotion for d whole body?
Yes, you can use the same lotion for both, but if you need special attention just for your feet,you can certain creams that will target the areas you want to work on. Same goes with the hands and the rest of the body but it is really up to you. If you are only looking for a good moisturizer for your body, one lotion will do the job for you.Do i neeD tO use a seperate hand cream and foot cream?. .Cant i use just a body lotion for d whole body?
I would buy a lotion that specifically says ';Body Lotion';.
I use Mario Badescu Moisturizing Apricot Body Lotion.
Mario Badescu products are pricey but good.
If u r tight on cash, I would just go to Bath and Body Works.
There is TONS of yummy smelling lotion there for reallycheap.
I recommend cherry blossom or sweet pea scented! : )Do i neeD tO use a seperate hand cream and foot cream?. .Cant i use just a body lotion for d whole body?
!certainly you can! body lotion is for skin, so it can be used all over body!!!
depending on the lotion, you can use it on the entire body, but your feet and hands generally have different needs when it comes to lotion, so it might be best to get specific lotions for each
sure you can use one for both... foot cream is usually a lil thicker because lets facit our feet arent as soft as our hands but u can use the same for booth. If u want tho bath and body works has fabulous foot cream - and isnt overpriced and you can actually find ones that arent minty smelling- ew... = )
Yo sexy why why not
no..u cant. the skin on body is thicker than on face n less sensitive. facial skin is very sensitive, so use a creme/lotion tats meant only for face.

Does anyone know of a good hand cream for people with eczema, where the skin on the hands gets dry and peely?
Amlactin. You need to ask your pharmacist for it, but you don't need a prescription. It's expensive (over $20 a bottle) but it works.Does anyone know of a good hand cream for people with eczema, where the skin on the hands gets dry and peely?
its called renew,my husband had the roughest hands and always looked bad where he is a auto mechanic,and also works in a lot of chemicals,i ordered this and even thought he still does the same things this lotion keeps his hands very soft and smooth,it's also good with psoriasis if interested in this lotion email me I'll give you the informationDoes anyone know of a good hand cream for people with eczema, where the skin on the hands gets dry and peely?
Try mangosteen juice. Contact me by email and I'll lead you to information. Many people with eczema are having great results using this all natural and fully patented product. Tastes fantastic and has only 2 grams sugar and 3 carbs per serving. Clinical documentation and testimonials available.
Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Lotion. If you use it every day you'll notice a difference in a few days.
I highly recommend using Dr Wheatgrass Recovery Cream/Spray. The products works amazing well. It's cream/spray derived from organically grown wheatgrass. Dr. Reynolds invented the product and has been successfully treating this patients since 1995 with these products. As far as allergic reactions go, this product is made from wheatgrass, the same thing that bread is made of. It's also gluten free. I believe it's approved for people of all ages (from infants to adults) because it's a natural product. You can check out his website below for more information and testimonials. I hope this helps you in making an informed decision.
auqaphur. its the best
Eucerin is really good, but never underestimate the power of vaseline.
You can try taking GLA or gamma linnioleic acid- EveningPrimrose Oil or try breaking open the caplets and rubbing the oil on sparingly, as you don't want to over do the oil.
eucerin is a great brand for exema, it works for me
Aveeno has a really good cream for eczema, look in the baby isle at any store you will find it there.
use handwash it helps dont buy something especially for it they make it worse

Good hand cream for extemely dry hands?
i have 2 babies and im constantly washing my hands and now i have dry skins and calluses and my hands are just rough i need a cream or lotion that will help me alittle with the roughness and the peeling and stuff!Good hand cream for extemely dry hands?
The best lotions have urea in them, but it is hard to find. Gold BOnd lotion is one that has it that is readily available. Another good one is Palmer's cocoa butter cream (not the pure butter in stick form or the diluted lotion with a pump; get the kind in the tub).
I have really dry skin in winter and find that nothing beats olive oil. When your hands are still moist from washing rub the oil on and let it sit. You can do this at the end of the day when the kids are asleep; it isn't easy to do when things are hectic.Good hand cream for extemely dry hands?
Neutrogena Hand Cream. It comes in a small tube and just a dab will heal your dry skin.
I use the shea butter that comes in a jar by Tree Hut.
use Vasoline.
ummm... maybe you should get St. Ives I think thats how you spell it it's really good, or get some Ulta hand cream
aveeno really helps dry skin
Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream is pretty good. It stays through a couple of hand washings and is not that expensive.
Aveeno is very good. You can also get Aveeno powder for the bath. Works on whole body but turns water a muddy brown. Recommended for children if they get eczema. Stops itch and sooth dry skin.
Some people buy cotton gloves at the drug store. Put on hand cream and than wear gloves to bed. Might help. Good luck.
i know it sounds gross, but they make ';udder cream'; for cows. it's commonly used on people and helps for really dry skin. as much as you may hate it, using a thick lotion really helps. it lasts a lot longer than watery kinds. Avon makes another lotion that comes in a white tube-like bottle. they have little water drops on the front to show what type of skin this lotion is for. the more drops, the thicker the lotion. it works great. i have dry skin too. good luck.
Try eucerin. It's greasy but it's really good. My mom uses that for her cracked, dry hands.
eucerin
MOISTURE MITTS by Bee-Luscious!!!!!! It is exactly that! A moisturizer and it forms a protective barrier on your hands. So it does not wash off! It is oil, petroleum and alcohol free. I have never used anyhting like it before. BTW I am a nurse so I am consatntly washing my hands and this works better than anything else I have ever tried.

aveeno! Make sure you use lotion everytime you get your hands wet!!!!! Use as often as possible!
Cetaphill?
use straight vinegar and rub in it helps trust me
i just got some lotion as a gift called ';look ma new hands!'; its pricy but very good. got it at smith and hawken or something
i've found after going through several different products that cetaphil moisturizing cream works best for me...it's moisture to the extreme and definitely helps heal the dryest, most sensitive skin.
I just made some hand balm up for my lab co-workers:
1 c olive oil
1/4 c beeswax pellets
3-4 vitamin E capsules (squeezed out)
Melt together in small saucepan pour into clean plastic tub
The olive oil actually sinks into your skin to keep it moist, the beeswax helps seal it in. The vitamin E acts as a natural preservative to keep it from ';turning bad';.
You can buy beeswax pellets at ';michael's'; craft stores in the candle section.
This is a great all purpose mositurizer, hands, heels, lips... Even tames fly aways in hair.
Totally great for sensitive or chapped skin because nothing in it is irritating.
If you do buy some lotion, look for plant oils instead of mineral oil. (Mineral oil doesn't sink into skin well)
And avoid parabens, they are a preservative that irritates some people's skin.
Cornhusker's Lotion
aveeno or cocoa butter
I would say Vaseline is a great choice because it penetrates the skin and even though you wash frequently the moisture or oil from the Vaseline is not easily washed away. Also, this is easy on the babies skin as well.
victoria secrets lotion is real good i love it and i have real bad dry skin(like as in rough too) and it works real good
aveeno helps. i get real dry skin too.
Maybe Eucerin, Cocoa Butter, or Cocoa Shea Butter will help.
Aveeno
Neutrogena has a nice handcream. So does Nivea. I really like Gold Bond's lotion. But for really, really dry hands I'd go with Eucerin or even Aquaphor.
i'm not sure about cream, bur one thing u can do is put on lotion after doing such activities as washing dishes, or showering, that way ur trapping in the moisture instead of locking it out.
Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula w/ vitamin E
eucerin, my boyfriend constantly washes his hands I think he may be germaphobic. His hands would get so dry they'd crack and bleed, they're getting better now.
Mary Kay's extra emollient night creme! The best....then try their hand creme. These are part of the satin hands set.erythema

Can you recommend a really good (cheap) hand cream in UK?
The winter has given me cracked dry hands.. All the hand creams and moisturisers I use at the moment seem to just sting when I put them on... is there a moisturiser I can use that is effective and also kind to my hands?Can you recommend a really good (cheap) hand cream in UK?
Just Vaseline Intensive care is good...or one from Boots in their botanics range. The really really cheap ones can be a bit greasy and don't soak in.Can you recommend a really good (cheap) hand cream in UK?
sensitive skin - boots Aqueous cream, 拢2.40 latge tub can use to wash face and body and also as a moisturiser, no sting. use very little amount, lasts ages. Report Abuse
great stuff! Report Abuse
I use Atrixo, always have. But you could apply a spot of baby oil when your hands are still wet, then dry them with the oil on.
savlon hand cream..my hands take a lot of abuse due to work! and i swear by it..so did my gran so it cant be bad!! ttfn.
Fishermans formular by Nordic Skin Essentials. Its brilliant;
yep vaseline intensive care.
Superdrugs oen hand creams are inexpensive and realy good.
see if your boyfriend/hubby can provide any.....
Atrixo or Nivea are good and cheap. The best, for seriously dry or cracked hands, is Neutrogena which is a heavy duty remedy. But a liberal slop of Atrixo or Nivea should be good.
try using simple vaseline or coco butter lotion really does keep your hands and body soft and smooth.Good luck
johnsons baby lotion is great and very gentle.. many poundland stores have it in now too
Hiya
The best that I can recommend for hands in poor condition is actually foot creme. Try to find one with bee's wax (maybe Burt's Bees have one). I normally import mine from Switzerland (Pedic range from MIGROS).
For me foot creme doesn't make my hands ';addicted'; and even drier like the emost expensive hand cremes do.
Good luck
apply petroleum jelly or olive oil before going to bed. Day time use cream contains vitamin E
I use Oil of Olay moisturiser for sensitive skin for my face. Never stings and it's really cheap. As for your hands, if they're really sore, try E45 cream.
I use just normal vaseline, just a little bit so doesn't leave hands feeling greasy, find it better than all the hand creams I've tried
Use what Norwegian fishermen use... it's called Neutrogena 'Norwegian Formula concentrated Hand Cream'. You only need as small amount (so it's effectively very cheap because it lasts so long). Otherwise, use Nivea cream. Both available from any decent pharmacy.
e45 creams really good for cracked skin
Try this, its brill, I have very dry hands and its the only thing that doesnt sting my hands!!!

I used this hand cream that smells like old tires...how do I get the smell?
off of my hands I washed them all day long???
Also is it wrong for me to put this on my Husband while he sleeps so he stops smelling so darn good? I don't want other women smelling him...I am jealous like that.I used this hand cream that smells like old tires...how do I get the smell?
Use lemon on your hands. As for your husband, I assume YOU will be the only one next to him while he sleeps. Why not wait to rub it on him when he leaves for work. Now stop whining and go get laid.I used this hand cream that smells like old tires...how do I get the smell?
Whenever I have smelly hands I use salt and vinegar along with soap on them (removes the smell of Ajax and Comet).
The second part I'll bet you already know the answer to so I'll just say that you may want to work a bit on building your self-esteem. If you feel you have a good reason not to trust him, you may need to see a counselor
LOL
rubbing alcohol probably would work the best to get it off, try Pur-el or some anti-bacterial lotion with a strong smell
i hope your husband doesn't find this question
but hey, that lotion comes in handy- girl repeller and if you want to be a tire for halloween, there you go ;)
you need to rub your hands on a set of hubcaps.
Nah, it's not wrong. But you may wonder why so many guys just walk up and start talking with him about car stuff.........we are weird that way.
Use lavender oil or shapoo, that is laveder scented, it will cover up and remove the smell
Quit acting like you don't want your husband to father some more illegitimate children. I can seeeeeee through your lies!
use anti bacterial wash, or alcohol itself.
I'd find a new place to buy my hand lotion.
Gotta stop shopping in the auto parts store.
you need to douce both of you down in gasoline...or I'll just come over and rub my scent all over ya's...
come to my house and i will give u a good washing

What hand repair cream really works?
my aunt is thirty plus and has this really rough hands. what product can i get for her for a silky hands.What hand repair cream really works?
Okay, it's not glamourous, but it's super cheap and totally works: Corn Huskers Lotion. You can find it at any drugstore. Tell your aunt to apply it 2-3 times a day, especially at night.What hand repair cream really works?
I love Neutrogena's Norweigan hand cream. Its thick, creamy and doesn't leave your hands greasy.
I'd slather it on, and put some cotton gloves on or even a zip lock bag and then slip socks over the hands, then sleep like that overnight. Sounds strange, but it works.

Who makes a better hand cream for dry hands - L'Occitane or Kiehls?
The truth is, that all hand creams are more or less the same. THe difference in price comes mostly from the brand difference. So you can buy a cheaper brand as well. What's important though is to use the cream regularly, few times per day, especially after each hand wash. Even more often if you spend a lot of time in an air-conditioned place or in a cold weather. When exposed to the sun, remember to use a cream with high SPF (any body cream with sunscreen will do) - hands are the part of our body that tend to get older the fastest.Who makes a better hand cream for dry hands - L'Occitane or Kiehls?
I am not familiar with either. However, I can tell you that last winter my hands were dry, cracked and bleeding. I went to a dermatologist who prescribed some moisturizing lotion. I purchased the largest one because.......well, obviously, he knew what was right and it did absolutely nothing for me. A friend had mailed me the hand cream from Arbonne International. I tried it and within three days my hands were healing. I love this lotion and would recommend it to everyone. If you hands are still dry you can add a bit of Arbonne's Skin Conditioning Oil too. Good luck on finding something!

What is the best hand cream?
I have such dry and sensitive skin, and eczema also. My hands hurt and are dry and red and itchy. What is the best hand cream to quickly heal my hands? ThanksWhat is the best hand cream?
L'Occitane. All of these products are awesome. I like the scentless hand cream with 20% shea butter. If you try it, you will never go back.What is the best hand cream?
l'occitane is THE BEST! Even my husband will use it because the scent is so light. It also rubs into your skin really completely. Report Abuse
I had just the same problem. The first thing to do is wash your hands less (if you use those thin, white rubber handgloves, you won't need to wash them so often) and use a soft soap (made of glicerin or a soap for very dry skin or sensitive skin). If your hands are a little swollen too, you shouldn't use any hand cream until that disappears. If not, you can use ';Neutrogena'; or ';Atrix'; (I use this one). It will take between 5 and 15 days until your skin regenerates. However, you should always put on only a little hand cream, that's the way it works best. Also avoid using detergents without handgloves and never buy hand cream for ';very dry skin'; as it makes your hands swell.
Gold Bonds Intensive Care
vaseline is the best and less expensive
There is a cream for diabetics call Diabetic-X which is really good. I used it on broken skin from a intravenous backup where the tape almost ripped the skin as they took it off and it healed it so quickly. It's a little high priced but I still buy it over the others. I first got it at the Olathe Hospital in Olathe Kansas but your local pharmacy should be able to get it for you.
Dr Hauschka rose hand cream is very nice and soothing. It is also free from parabens.
all hand creams are best but i do consider one branded lotion, ';nivea';. it's soft to use in hand and gentle too. you might want to try it out.
I like to use strawberry body butter
i love almost every cream containing aloe!
aloe is great for skin and hair!
Eucerine dermatologist recommended by Lubriderm or coco butter. Good luck!

St. Ive's Body Moisturizer with Vitamin E. It works wonders.
With skin as sensitive as yours, I would really suggest that you ask your doctor for recommendations.
As for me, I love Jergens Shea Butter Cream. THis is reich %26amp; thick without being sticky or gummy. Winter in the desert is dry dry dry. Plus indoor heated air is even drier! I get patches of rough dry skin on my hands and elbows. Jergens put an end to that!
Interestingly, I never would have bought the Jergens if I had not been introduced to it by a friend.
